Sharing with our Keiki the traditions of Hawaii and sustainable lifestyles & supporting their dreams and talents for the future.
Keiki of Da Aina provides the supplies needed, from hunting gear to fishing rods, competition prizes, support for athletic dreams, backpacks and haircuts at the start of school and catered lunches all donated by our supporters. Plus an enormous sharing of Hawaiian practices necessary to support our island’s future leaders from the hearts of our supporters, ensuring our budding athletes and future leaders always have what they need to pursue their dreams.
In addition, we endeavor to pass on the na’auao of Hawaiian practices, an essential pillar for our Keiki’s leadership journey.
Only with your lokahi can we work to organize successful and impactful events, shaping tomorrow’s leaders today, for tomorrow. Let us carry on this journey of pono and aloha together, and lend a hand in nurturing the future of our island’s children. Mahalo for being a valued part of our ohana. 🌈 🌊
SOME OF OUR PROJECTS
FISHING
Our annual Bamboo Fishing Tournament. K.O.A. provides the bamboo fishing rods, bait, lines and sinkers, along with guidance on this traditionally Hawaiian sport from our island
EDUCATION
Back to School Event. Just prior to Covid, we handed out over 400 backpacks stuffed with school supplies, new donated clothing, Keiki eye exams, and over 250 haircuts.
HUNTING
Our annual Pig Hunting Workshop. Over 100 families turned out for our annual hunting event in 2020. Local Hawaiian experts shared with the Keiki the finer points of this Hawaiian experience.
COMMUNITY
K.O.A. along with Umeke’s Restaurant and Kona Brewing Company hold their annual fishing tournament on a mission to strengthen island families by improving their quality of life as they face the emotional and financial hardships of caring for a seriously ill child.
YOUTH MENTORING
Ongoing community events. Our sessions with the Keiki immerse them in good practices for life goals and get closer to the natural world and the island culture.
SPORTS
Annual events for basketball, soccer and baseball. In 2023 KOA is collaborating with local sponsors to help support island Keiki’s talents and future dreams.
